Franklin Bridal Ball

This past Sunday, we had the privilege of being apart of the Franklin Bridal Ball, held at the Franklin Marriott Hotel. There was a great turn out of brides, and we lots of fun working with you. One of our girls on staff, Lindsay, was a trooper and wore a couple of our gowns in the booth. One was a gown by Sophia Tolli, and the other was by Alfred Sung, both from lines that carry exclusively.

Wild & Wacky Wedding Cake Competition

Sugar Drop is a member of ICES, International Cake Exploration Society. It's a great opportunity to really get involved, learn, and pow wow with other cake designers. In March and October the Tennessee chapter has our Day of Sharing. The Day of Sharing usually involves demonstrations by cake design professionals. Sunday we had Jay Qualls of Maples Wedding Cakes , who did a stringwork demonstration that was wonderful.

We also had the Wild & Wacky Wedding Cake Competition.  In this competition, people who had registered, were split into four teams of three. On our team tables we had four bags of decorations, that we had to use every bit of. Most of it was old & awful things that were not supposed to co-exist, but that's what made it Wild & Wacky. We had 10 minutes to plan, and 50 to decorate.  Here are some pictures from the day. Enjoy!
